Highest Yoga Tantra offers a profound and transformative approach to awakening, working with the mind, body, and subtle energies to cultivate the causes of enlightenment. This practice day offers an opportunity to explore this profound path through meditation, teaching, and the practice of Six-Session Guru Yoga. This day is intended for those with the appropriate Highest Yoga Tantra empowerment and commitments who would like to deepen their understanding and experience of this extraordinary path.

This program offers participants a practical roadmap of how to cultivate happiness and overcome suffering amid life’s challenges. Interweaving the “Steps on the Path” (Lam Rim), the foundational philosophy of Tibetan Buddhism, with The Book of Joy (discussions with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu), this course explores the eight pillars of joy (perspective, humility, humor, acceptance, forgiveness, gratitude, compassion, and generosity) along with the realistic tools necessary to undertake that journey.

How can we transform ordinary experiences into opportunities for spiritual growth? The Six Perfections—generosity, ethical discipline, patience, joyful effort, concentration, and wisdom—offer a practical and profound roadmap for cultivating compassion and awakening our innate potential for wisdom. Over two Thursday evenings, we will explore these six qualities as essential practices of the bodhisattva path.

While we generally think of death as an anxiety-producing experience of loss and grief, it can also be a time of great opportunity if our minds are prepared. Explore a more expansive view of this natural transition and how it is possible to face death with peace, dignity, and no regrets. Discussion and meditations are included along with practical applications for caregivers. Open to all levels of students with a particular interest in death and dying, hospice work, and all caregivers.
